Spa day!

Hey, guys! Welcome to the Beauty Bar.  Today's topic is how to treat yourself with an at-home spa day.  Doing your own facials, manicure, etc..  We're going to start off by filling a large bowl with boiling water.  Put your hair into a bun or pony tail, and put your face over the steam for 1 minute.  Be sure not to burn yourself, otherwise you could end up with a serious steam burn.  Putting your face over the steam will cause your pores to open up and the steam will cleanse them.  After you have put your face over the steam for 1 minute, rub your face gently with the excess water on your face and pat dry with a towel.  Save the water in the bowl and add 1 packet of Aveeno oatmeal  and 1 egg white.  Mix it together until it is pasty or gooey.  Take two fingers and dip it into the mixture and rub it over your face.  Keep repeating this until your face is covered in the facial.  Leave it on for 12 minutes.  While your'e waiting, you can play soft relaxing music, light a scented candle, and maybe even dim the lights for a more relaxing effect.  After the 12 minutes, wash your face with lukewarm water and gently rub it off with you hands.  Dry your face with a towel.  Now we will use some Manuka honey and EVO (extra virgin olive oil).  Put 1 tablespoon of EVO and 1 tablespoon of honey and mix it together in a small bowl.  Microwave the mixture for 25 seconds.  Test it on your hand before you put it on your face to make sure its not too hot.  Use a pastry brush to dip in the mixture and put it on your face.  You will notice that it will soothe your skin and give it a healthy glow.  Wash the mixture off with warm water,  and pat your face dry.  I forgot  to mention that the oatmeal and egg white mask will get rid off dead skin cells and tighten the skin.  I always like to put cucumber slices on my eyes and rub body lotion on my legs and arms.  Body lotion is soothing and will make your skin feel soft and supple.  If you have any questions,  e-mail me at Beanie489@me.com  GOOD LUCK!

P.S. You can get body lotion at the dollar store.  My favorite kind is Shea Butter!

SUMMER FUN!!!

Hey, True Beauties!  Welcome back to the Beauty Bar!!! Today's topic is...SUMMER FUN!!!!  I'm so excited for summer, and I'm getting ready. Summer is my favorite season besides fall.  It is a time when we can all relax and enjoy the warmth of the sun.  It's my favorite time because I love the beach, the music and especially the food!  For example: snow cones and yummy treats.  But there is a downside to all this summer fun. The sun is dangerous for your skin if you stay outside too long!  It can give you a horrible burn and may even cause skin cancer!  Be sure not to over-tan.  Otherwise, you'll look like a piece of shriveled bacon.  Believe me, you won't look good if you are constantly tanning.  Make sure to wear sun screen all the time if you live in a hot climate.  Always use a hydrating moisturizer while in the sun.  Basically, summer is a time when your skin is getting ready for war.  First things first: always put on sunscreen before you go outside in the heat.  Second, don't over-tan!  Third, be sure to hydrate your skin like crazy for extra protection against harmful rays from the sun.  If you want to wear makeup while at the beach, I recommend BB cream and waterproof mascara with lip balm.  Those are the rules and don't break them!  Otherwise, serious skin problems can arise!  Even if it's cloudy outside, I still recommend using sunscreen.  During the summer, sun screen is your best friend and you want to make sure that you hydrate and moisturize as much as possible.  The sun can really dry out your skin.  Stay tuned for tomorrow!

Beauty tip of the day: Cut a lemon in half, and dip one half in pure cane sugar. Then rub it all over the face and leave it for 5 minutes.  Then wash off with lukewarm water.  The lemon and sugar have a chemical reaction on the skin to make it look brighter and healthier.  Good luck!

Hey, girls! Today's topic is the face. I started to have acne when I was 9, and it was pretty bad! I had so much redness on my face. I was popping my zits every 5 minutes because I thought it would help.  Instead, it just made my face feel a lot worse!  My face started to ache really badly, and I was completely mad at my skin.  A couple of years ago, I decided to get a facial at Message Envy.  My face was completely clear of acne for about a week and a half.  Then it came back.  So I did some research and have been looking for home remedies that can help with acne.  I'm now 13 and have had major acne until a couple of months ago. I started to hydrate my skin more often and and use moisturizer.  Even when we have oily skin, it's so important to hydrate and moisturize!  Go to your local drugstore and get some moisturizers!  Makeup can leave your skin feeling oily while you're wearing it.  My favorite solution is BB Cream or better known as "beauty balm."  BB Cream is perfect for teens who are new to makeup! BB Cream leaves my skin feeling soft.  Plus, it has all these benefits including, SPF15!
During the summer, you're going to want to moisturize like crazy!  First, never use any harsh scrubs unless they are sulfate-free!  Second, always use lukewarm water when removing facials, because it could irritate the skin if you scrub hard.  Third, always use natural organic facials when you're new to makeup or young like me.  Making your own facials can be fun and are great for sleepovers!  Lastly, let your parents know that BB Cream, facials and  moisturizers are all natural for your skin and are amazing for bad breakouts!  My favorite home remedy for a zit is to put a dab of toothpaste on the irritated area and wait overnight.  It should have immediately zapped the zit away!  To reduce redness, I like putting eye drops onto my really red pimples and it should reduce the swelling up to 30-60%.
Good luck!
